We are now on REVISION 14 of this part!

This part is designed to be easy to print "upside down" - This should require zero supports - Every angle is greater than 45 degrees and should be doable on nearly all printers.

I've had good luck with 50% infill, 4 perimeters, 4 layers on the top and bottom, triangle infill pattern or another pattern that offers good isometric strength. You might be able to push the infill percentage even lower - these parameters give a very solid part with nearly zero flex.

Printing with our recommendations should give you around a 9-hour print time at a .2mm layer height.

We recommend printing this in something temperature stable, like PETG or ABS. It’s possible that a material like HT-PLA (or even normal PLA) will work after being annealed in an oven, but beware that those materials do shrink some, and you may need to scale the model to compensate. Unannealed PLA will start to soften and warp well below the temperatures that you could expect to see inside a hot car, for instance.

Besides being relatively temperature stable and UV stable, PETG also takes machining relatively well - sanding, cutting, etc. The only thing it won’t take is paint - so print it in the color you’re comfortable with.

The tolerances are QUITE close on this part to accommodate all 4 components and still fall inside the footprint of the mounting holes in the JT bed.
